Since color of emerald is highly relevant in vedic astrology, Colombian emeralds are considered to be ideal for astrological purposes. Excess iron content found in the Zambian emerald causes a bluish tint and gives it a darker color. Wearing either a Colombian emerald ring or a Zambian emerald ring is the ideal way to receive instant astrological benefits as both are equally effective astrologically.

While purchasing Emerald, what should be given more importance, color or clarity?

Emerald is a gem of color. Before selecting a gemstone, it is important to know whether it is worn as a jewel or as a special requirement. Emerald is worn for astrological necessity as well as a jewelry stone. If chosen for astrological reasons, color should be the wearer’s first concern, since Panna color can influence the results. However, when selecting the emerald for sheer ornamental or jewelry purposes, customer can opt for a cleaner piece as per his preference. Also, seeing the overall worth of this highly popular gemstone, it is color that dominates the price and not clarity. For this reason, worth of Colombian emerald in international or national markets is way above than other origins.

As per vedic astrology recommendations, one should wear an emerald ring in the little finger of the working hand for best astrological results. But in exceptional cases, Panna ring can also be worn in the ring finger of the working hand.
